How to Survive Long Distance Relationships

Executive summary about long distance relationships by Kent Pinkerton

long distance relationship quotes

long distance relationship quotes

One of the great obstacles to maintaining a healthy relationship these days occurs when jobs or other situations put physical distance between the two partners. Long distance relationships require special skills to keep the connection strong and the communication flowing between the couple. The good news is that overcoming physical distances is a lot easier to accomplish than overcoming emotional distances between people. Even the most connected, loving couples need some extra skills to overcome the possible damage to the relationship imposed by long distance separation. Without sex, and without the other partner looking over their shoulder, long distance relationships often meet a quick end as either or both parties find new sexual partners.

The next biggest hurdle to overcome when physically separated is communication. Cell phones, palm pilots and the internet make reaching out to touch somebody easy and simple. Complaining, whining about life, and otherwise badgering the absent partner will only make that distance seem even farther.

Maintaining Long Distance Relationships

Executive summary about long distance relationships by Emma-Louise Smith

Many people today want to learn about maintaining long distance relationships. You have to simply maintain the relationship and not make it grow.

There are a lot of people who do not like the idea of working hard at relationships. The key component in maintaining long distance relationships is trust. You have to be able to trust anyone you enter into a relationship with, but it is even more important in a long distance relationship. Maintaining long distance relationships mean that you have to see each other once in a while. You should plan these times carefully. Many parties in a long distance relationship find that they look forward to spending time with their partner even more when they are involved in a long distance relationship. You tend to get more quality than quantity time when you are in a long distance relationship.

Long distance relationships are ideal for those who do not want the pressure of the day to day relationship but still want the comfort of having someone special in their life.

What The Love Is

Executive summary about what is the love by Dionis Fernandez

what is the definition of love
what is the definition of love

The majority of people confuse love with attraction of the opposite gender. But what they ignore is that attraction is not love and love is definitely not attraction.

Love is not attraction between to people, love is eternal friendship between two people. Love is not made, it is born. Love grows with time, not when you kiss someone and it magically appears.

Love means sacrifice, patience, comprehension. Attraction is attraction and love is love. Love is not a feeling, love is a decision. Love comes with strong feeling, but love it self is not a feeling.

What is the Difference Between Love and Attraction?

Executive summary about what is the love by Aaron M

After experiencing a truly loving relationship, I can now clearly differentiate between true love and mere attraction. Love is acceptance of who you are as an individual; attraction without love desires your lover to live up to all your expectations.

Love does not keep a scorecard and does not hold grudges; attraction without love is vindictive, critical, and competitive.

Love is not rigid, it is flexible and formless; attraction without love is strict, defined, and black and white.

Love gives; attraction without love takes as much as it gives.

Love is ephemeral; attraction without love is material.
